underwrite Blues & Burritos every September as a fundraiser for a local nonprofit agency. With

Downtown Hickory Art Crawls - Union Square in the heart of downtown Hickory.
Downtown businesses host local artists who sell their work for one night in May & September. It is a
nice evening to buy art, hear live music, attend a wine tasting and dine at one of the many
downtown restaurants.
FloydFest - Floyd, Virginia
Named one of 10 Best Fests by Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine, this awesome music festival is not to
be missed. It is held at an absolutely beautiful site just off of the Blue Ridge Parkway outside of
Floyd, VA and hosts the best festival bands. It is unique in that if you camp, you have to haul your

Lake Eden Arts Festival (The LEAF) - Camp Rockmont, Black Mountain, NC
This is one of the premier world music festivals around held in May and October. Held over four
days, this festival is billed as a spirited celebration of regional and world folk arts. It includes music,
dancing, concerts, handcrafts and healing arts. You simply will not find another festival like this one.
Tickets support LEAF's various regional and international outreach programs. Put this festival on
your schedule this year!
Poetry Hickory - Taste Full Beans Coffeehouse, Hickory, NC
Scott Owens brings a wonderful evening of poetry to Hickory on the second Tuesday of each month.
The night begins with three open mic readers followed by one or two published authors. The event
runs from 6:30pm until 8:30pm.

Tammy Leigh is a Catawba County potter whose work has evolved into sculptural clay. Her attention
to detail and intricate glazes set her apart from other artists. One visit to her website, and you will

Taste Full Beans Coffeehouse - Hickory, NC
Edgar and DW have done more to promote local artists than any local business in this region of NC.
Not only does Taste Full Beans host the annual Aroma of Art fundraiser (for which they've been
recognized by the Governor of NC) but the guys also rotate a nice mix of fine art and craft every five
